Specialist Behavour Support
We provide personalised behaviour support to help people and the people around them better understand what is happening and find practical ways forward.
We start by getting to know the person, not just the behaviour. We look at what might be contributing to the behaviour, including communication, relationships, routines, environment, past experiences, strengths and support needs. Most importantly, we listen to the person and the people who know them best.
From there, we work together to develop strategies that make sense for the individual and can actually be used in everyday life. We also work alongside families, carers and support teams so that everyone feels more confident and knows how to provide consistent support.
Our Behaviour Support services include:
Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA)
Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans
Interim and Positive Behaviour Support Plans
Support to reduce and, where possible, eliminate restrictive practices
Individualised behaviour support strategies
Training and coaching for families, carers and support teams
Practical support to put strategies into place
Regular review and adjustment of support
Monitoring progress and making changes when something isn't working
We don't believe behaviour support is about simply telling someone to stop doing something.
It's about understanding what is happening, working out what the person needs, and finding better ways to support them.
Our goal is to help people build skills and confidence, have greater choice and independence, and feel more supported in their everyday lives.
